QMC 400 – Quick Change Disc for paint, varnish and filler
Suitable for universal use and easy to handle - the Quick Change Disc with metal locking: The Quick Change Disc quick metal connect is an excellent option for work on:
- paint,
- varnish,
- filler, and
- metal.
Its unique abilities make it ideal for fine sanding on surfaces or for cleaning work on varnish. Designed specifically for these types of application, the disc is only offered in the grit sizes medium, fine, and very fine. A soft non-woven web material covers the surface of the disc. The abrasive material used is aluminium oxide. This material is an abrasive grain that has been manufactured synthetically from aluminium oxide. The use of a synthetic abrasive material for this abrasive guarantees results of consistently high quality.
Effective work with the Quick Change Disc with metal locking
Performing cleaning work on varnish and other materials requires that the disc be fitted on a backing pad. The necessary connection is established by screwing in the Quick Change Disc quick metal connect with an internal threaded shaft. The adapter QCA 555 makes it possible to use the disc with any standard angle grinder. The locking mechanism of the abrasive discs allows for a quick exchange and makes the workflow much more effective. Klingspor offers the backing pad in a large number of different sizes and in a variety of hardnesses. If the soft non-woven web material is combined with a similarly soft backing pad, the discs can also complete cleaning work on extremely sensitive varnish. By contrast, if an application calls for a higher stock removal rate, the better option is to choose a harder backing pad.
Aspects to keep in mind for storing the abrasive discs
To keep them protected against damage and dirt, the discs should be left in their original packaging until they are used. They should be protected from heat, direct sunlight and contact with moisture. The ideal temperature for storage ranges between 18 °C and 22 °C. The humidity level should not exceed 65 %. If the air is too moist, the backings of the abrasive discs may absorb moisture, causing them to buckle.
